It's the beginning of "Hard Times" Competition at Filmaka! Make a 1-3 film on this theme and you could win funding to direct your feature film! The competition is judged by esteemed international filmmakers Werner Herzog, Zak Penn, Colin Firth, Paul Schrader, and more! Each month there is a new theme and 15-20 filmmakers receive $1500-$4500. Script Writing Contest for Music Video

Filmaka.com is now accepting pitches for music videos that could be showcased during the CBS broadcast of the Grammy Awards! You send in your pitch and Filmaka will select 10 videos and fund their production with $7,500. Each video must use one of several songs streaming on the website and feature the 2009 Lincoln MKS luxury sedan. Five winning filmmakers will receive $5,000 cash prize and could have a version of their video air during the CBS broadcast of the Grammy Awards! Pitches are due January 2, and produced films are due January 18. Go to http://www.filmaka.com/lincoln to listen to the tunes and find one that inspires you!

Filmaka offers funding to unknown filmmakers around the world and provides a chance to step up in to professional cinema and TV. Last year Filmaka commissioned over 40 web series to filmmakers across the planet, from Tokyo to Mexico City, and awarded $5 million in production funding to a Londoner, Nuru Rimington-Mkali, to direct his feature film. CISCO Film Making Contest
